Fellas,

As you might remember in the past few years we've been working on making it easier for users to use LAMS in mobile devices.

The main issue with these devices, aside from smaller screen is the use of Adobe Flash.

Although a long time ago we created a Flashless learner's interface, in order to use it, you need to login, turn it on and then jump to your lesson. Needless to say, if you want to switch Flash back on because you are now in a larger screen (or just because you like it), you need to turn this off again.

So now we have made it so it automatically detects whether you are coming from a mobile devices and if so, it redirects you to the Flashless interface. And you don't need to turn nothing on or off. It just works :-)

It detects a *lot* of mobile devices: all the iPads, iPods, iPhones, Androids, Palms, Kindles, Symbian (Nokia), PSPs, etc, etc...

If you want to try this, the translator's server already has it. Here at the task details for this.

Note that this interface is *only* for learner! If you are a Author or Monitor, you still would need to use the Flash interfaces.

Hopefully in the future with the new HTML5 drag and drop features, we can start looking at alternatives for these interfaces.

Thanks,

Ernie
