hello,
I exported a lesson from my local LAMS-Server and tried to import it on another Server.
When I imported the following error message appeared:

org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.service.ImportToolContentException org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.service.ImportToolContentException: com.thoughtworks.xstream.converters.ConversionException: Cannot construct org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.GroupingDTO as it does not have a no-args constructor ---- Debugging information ---- message : Cannot construct org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.GroupingDTO as it does not have a no-args constructor line number : 22 path : /org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.LearningDesignDTO/groupings/org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.GroupingDTO cause-message : Cannot construct org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.GroupingDTO as it does not have a no-args constructor class : org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.LearningDesignDTO cause-exception : com.thoughtworks.xstream.converters.reflection.ObjectAccessException required-type : org.lamsfoundation.lams.learningdesign.dto.GroupingDTO -------------------------------

Both servers run under ubuntu, the Internet-Server uses Oracle-Java-7, my local server Sun-Java-6.

I cannot interpret the error messages, can someone give please me hint, what to do?
Thank you in advance,
Michael

I solved the problem by re-installing LAMS with Sun-jdk-1.6

Hi Michael,

Yes, LAMS requires Java 6.

Last time I tried it didn't work with Java 7.

However, if you are using LAMS 2.4, with the windows installer java jre 6 is included in the install.

Thanks,

Ernie
