Hello all,

I have just finish building up LAMS 2.1 projects and database in my computer. According to the instructions, once I have everything deployed, I should start JBOSS server and at this point it arises another failure. A dialog box pops up saying:

"Timeout waiting for JBOSS 4.0 to start. Server did not start after 50s."

and my JBOSS server doesn't start. This error didn't occur before doing the deployment of projects and database. The server started without problems. Any idea?

My environment: Eclipse 3.2 on Windows XP Pro.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Alicia,

You need to increase the startup timeout for the jboss server.

Open the configuration page for the jboss server (right click and select open), then select the 'Timeout' tab and increase the startup timeout to at least 2 minutes.

Hello Anthony,

Thank you for your quick response, however I dont find the Configuration page anywhere. I have been going through the documentation but it does not tell where to find that page neither about a "Timeout" tab. Could you please tell me how to access to this page?

Many thanks.

Alicia.

Hi,

The instructions i gave are for eclipse 3.4.

When using eclipse 3.2, you need to

- Open Window -> Preferences -> Server
- Modify the 'Server timeout delay' from 'normal' to 'longer'
