Hi Ernie and James

We have pilot created the Greek LAMS Community
http://greeklamscommunity.ning.com/.

It gives an opportunity to discuss to all people prefer or find easier to communicate and discuss in Greek about LAMS, Learning Design, Open Educational Resources and Open Education ideas.

From the first discussions there, there is a need for the creating a special Category or adding a filter for "LAMS Sequences in Greek" into LAMS Central Repository.

We suggest to the members of the Greek LAMS Community to publish their LAMS sequences in http://lamscommunity.org

Thanks,

Spyros

Hi Spyros,

Or should I say Dr. Spyros now ;-)

Sorry I might have forgotten to email you about this but now there's a way to filter sequences by language. If you have a look at LAMS Central, on the top right hand corner you will see a drop down menu you can use to filter sequences by the available language.

Also if you want a direct link to add to the ning community, you can paste it like this:

http://lamscommunity.org/lamscentral/?language=el

And that should filter the sequences available in Greek.

I hope this is what you have in mind. Thanks,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

CONGRATULATIONS for such a job well done.

I already added a direct link to add to the Greek LAMS Community.

What about sequences in Greek in other areas (e.g. Getting Started, K - 12 Schools, etc)?
Should we add a second instance at LAMS Central?

this was what I have in mind plus the same filter on

Author - File - Import from lamscommunity.org ...

window in combination with Most Downloaded /Newest s /Best Rated

Thanks

Spyros

(Dr. Spyros Papadakis only for official purposes ! :-) )

Well, in all fairness, those sequences uploaded into those communities aren't meant to be "public". You would only be able to see them *if* you are part of those communities.

However, I don't know how strict we want to be about this as our main priority is to share good sequences and practices. What do you think?

Ah right! I have forgotten about that interface. I work on it shortly

Thanks Spyros,

Ernie

We can add all good sequences and practices in public at LAMS Central but at the same time to think about some filters with sequence's metadata.

We have refer to this issue in our paper

Anna Mavroudi, Papadakis Spyros, Thanasis Hadzilacos (2009). "LAMS Sequence Metadata Application Profile", European LAMS and Learning Design Conference", Milton Keynes, UK, July 2009

Spyros, this should be fixed now. Please try it and let me know if you have problems.

Thanks,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

It is working now!

What about the combination of 1) Language and 2) "Most Downloaded" or "Best Rated" sequences in this Language?

Is it possible?

Thanks

Spyros

If you search a sequence from the "Search" field you find sequences from all communities

Is it possible to select the language as 1st filter and after that to use the others field (search, best rated, ...)

That's because you are a member of those communities :-) If you sign off from a community, you'll see that you won't find sequences from that community in the results of your search.

I think so, let me see if I can do that.

Thanks,

Ernie
