Hi Charlie,

There could be a problem if your LAMS site uses an internal URL that cannot be accessible from the internet.

Pixlr uses an your LAMS server URL to retrieve the image and load it so students can modify it.

However, if your Server URL is not available from the internet perhaps because it runs on an internet or with an internal domain, then Pixlr won't be able to retrieve this easily.

Thanks,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

Thanks always for the quick reply.

We had that problem before we enabled the site outside. However, now I can see the problem as I create the Pixlr activity. I can browse for a picture and select it, but once this is complete the text box that contains the path to the image remains empty.

Regards
Charlie

Sorry, forgot to clarify. All other aspect of the Pixlr activity work fine, students' edited pictures can be viewed from inside LAMS.

Hi Charlie,

I can't replicate your problem. What's browser?

Thanks,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

Thanks for that. It's the same in IE8, Firefox and Chrome.

I've brought up an old sequence that worked and it allowed me to remove the original image and then upload a new Pixlr image to edit. I then added a new Pixlr activity to the same sequence, and when I tried to upload an image it didn't.

I exported the sequence and uploaded it to Lesson LAMS and it lets me upload an image. Another interesting thing is that in our LAMS server, I can add a Pixlr activity and it will allow me to save it without uploading an image file.

Obviously this is very strange, so I'm not expecting a solution. It's certainly intriguing though.

I've also been looking through the server files to see if any of the recent files have been uploaded to Pixlr, and there were lots of blank images.

Many thanks
Charlie
