If you try the videorecording you will receive ...

LAMS does not have a media server configured. Please contact your system administrator.


... and ... if you try Webconference ... you will receive ...

The installer does include wildfire but not the media server.

You'll need to configure an external media server for the video functions to work.

Red5 (the media server) is waaay too big to include in the installer. Additionally, if we do include it, it will increase the complexity all installer tasks a lot.

In this 2.4 release, we are trying to change that by simplifying it an making it easier to use/install.

Previously, I think we were focusing on System administrators to install LAMS. As they would need to install all these other components separately, configuring them accordingly and then install LAMS.

Now we are focusing on teachers that want to create LAMS on their desktops/laptops and then upload the sequences to their school servers to run them with students.
