Hi Daniel,

I think we are ready for testing the new debian packages.

So for this release (v2.4), we have to update JBoss and pretty much change the entire application leaving only the DB intact. We also had to move the secure folder as well as the news.html and pixlr images. But other than that, everything else has to be replaced.

For this, I created a new package for lams-jboss4. It is unfortunate that we called this lams-jboss4 originally as now we need to change this to jboss5 but we cannot change the name of the package, so now the package is lams-jboss4-5.1 instead. Not a big deal though.

Here's a link to the development task to create these installer packages.

I have so far tested:

1) Installing on Debian 6.0.5, Ubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu 12.04 servers
2) Upgrading from LAMS 2.3.5 to 2.4 in Ubuntu 10.04 and 12.04

In all these cases, it has been installed/upgraded without issues.

If you are able to help testing the installers, please email me directly so I send you the details.

Note these are *not* yet the final installers/upgraders, so we won't advise to test in your production settings as yet.

Thanks,

Ernie
