I'm surprised that the next question in response to your reply hasn't been "why?" Seems like a step backwards? I went through the whole installation, got the same issue as the original poster, and now see that "for some reason" it was mistakenly "left" in moodle? So now what? Can you forward me to some information so I can tell my teachers how to use this?

Can't help with details here. But just a word of warning:

* This LAMS V1 module is NEEDED, it has some permission code inside (i.e. the persons who did the integration code should have moved this to LAMS2, but did not ...). So it it is NOT mistakenly left, but parts of its code are mistakenly still used :)

* You may hide LAMS v1 (so that teachers can't see it), but do NOT REMOVE IT. I did that once and lost some time figuring out what happened.

* So teachers just use LAMS v2 (and that works, if LAMS v1 module is also left in Moodle, i.e. hidden).

Oh finally: You MUST install lamstwo manually in Moodle as explained here: http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lamsdocs/Moodle. Be careful to respect all the fine details ...

I don't think the original lams module/course format code was mistakenly left; it's just that people moved on to lams 2 and the Moodle guys kept the original module. As you know we have the lamstwo module now...

It's true there was originally a dependency on some of the original lams modules permissions, but we've removed that dependency recently (see changelog at http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lamsdocs/Moodle).
