Outline of Activities:
Step 1: Outline aims and objectives (text page). Description of the learning objectives of the session.
Step 2: Introduction (text page). Brief introduction to the topic written by teacher
Step 3: Pose the question (text page). Explain the question and why it is important.

POE PHASE 1: PREDICT
Step 4: (Voting). Prediction – vote on one of several possible predictions
Step 5: (Voting). Commitment – vote on level of confidence
Step 6: (Q&A). Reason, describe prediction and reason for prediction (answers shared with peers)
POE PHASE 2: OBSERVATION
Step 7: Students observe outcome (table of correlational data) and record observations in private notebook.
POE PHASE 3: EXPLAIN
Step 8: Students read through explanation and other related information provided by teacher.
Step 9: (Forum) Students post messages to discussion forum, including any differences in observation and prediction. Try to explain underlying reasons for observation and debate ideas with peers.

WEBQUEST
Step 10: Share resources (youtube clip). Students reflect on what they have found out then watch a short animation.
Step 11: (Forum). Students discuss the animation they have seen, supporting answers with arguments.
Step 12: Share resources (websites). Students gather information from web sources, critically reflecting on the information as they make notes.

ASSESSMENT
Step 13: Submit files (word document). Students apply knowledge in written task and submit for marking prior to next lesson.
