Hi Ernie,

I got a teacher who wants give some advice to his students when they arrive in a gate.

1) Is it possible to have text in a gate t or to give the possibility the author to edit a copy of the current message?

2) The same teacher wants his students to able to redo a test when they come back by double clicking. At the moment a student can redo a multiple choice activity or an assessment test only before he or she moves to the next activity.

In this case of course you need to record and the history - date and time he or she had redo the test and his/her results each time.

3) A lot of times when the your first student has done an activity he or she discovers a mistake that you would like to correct it before the other students arrive to this activity. It would be interest to force him/her back (not only forward until now) and to correct the activity.

What do you think about them?

Regards

Spyros

Hi Spyros,

Yes, we need this. I've just added as a feature:

http://bugs.lamsfoundation.org/browse/LDEV-2701

> 2) The same teacher wants his students to able to redo a test when they come
> back by double clicking. At the moment a student can redo a multiple choice
> activity or an assessment test only before he or she moves to the next activity.

They can do assessments and MCQs if the option to retake the test is enabled (or multiple attempts is turn on).

> In this case of course you need to record and the history

In the case of Assessment the different attempts are recorded as history. However, this is not the case for MCQ

> 3) A lot of times when the your first student has done an activity he or she
> discovers a mistake that you would like to correct it before the other
> students arrive to this activity. It would be interest to force him/her back
> (not only forward until now) and to correct the activity.

You mean send the student back to redo an activity?

Thanks,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

1) Thanks, we need it.

2) A student does not able to redo a test when come back (by double clicking an MCQ Activity) Try it. If you turn on multiple attempts (Allow Retries) you can retake the test only if is the current activity. You can see only the Previous Answers but not to redo the test.

3) Yes to send the student back to redo an activity (if for example does not pass a test.

Thanks

I've just uploaded a demonstration sequence that shows the Assessment—Gate—Activities structure.

(You can download now, it should be available for preview shortly.)

Basically, unless the learner gets 100% on the assessment, they can't go on to view the noticeboard, and have to go back and re-submit their answers.

When combined with LDEV-2701 (described above) this should get you the functionality you're looking for.
