Outline of Activities:

Aim: to generate simple quadratic relations, comiling tables of values and graphing equations as weel as generating simple hyperbolic reationships using tables and grapgs. Leaners should also identify graphs of sright lines, parabolas and hyperbolas and matching graphs of straight lines, parabolas and hyperbolas to the appropriate equation.

Outcomes:
-able to identify parabolic shapes in the environment
-describle the effect on the standard parabola b multipling by different constants
-predict the equation of a parabola from its graph
-describe the effect on the standard hyperbola by multipling by different constants
-explain what happens to the hyperbolic graph when it approachs the axis
-sort and classify graphs
-explain why it is useful to include small and large numbers when constructing a table of values
