I am working with a medical institution and we need to do training that centers around images.

Basically show and image and ask one or more questions about it.

How can we best accomplish this with LAMS?

Thanks

The new HTML noticeboard may help you here - and Bronwen has given some tips about adding images - in an earlier post she said:

" I use this trick all the time in for HTML noticeboard.

I have a LAMS sequence that I simply call 'pictures' and it only consists of a share resources activity which I load any pictures that I want to use into.

I do it slightly differently. I zip all my picture files together and upload them into the shared website section.

To get the URL, I preview the file that I have just uploaded, which gives a list of the pictures that were in the zip file, and then I right click on the link and 'copy link'. You can then paste the link straight into your HTML code.

The annoying thing is then having to save, close and open the new LAMS sequence that I will be using with the HTML noticeboard. It would be much better to have a your own webspace and I think also easier to manage. (Imagine accidently deleting the LAMS picture file and finding that all your HTML noticeboards don't work anymore).

Hope that was helpful. Bronwen (see getting started forum)

The other way would be to upload a webpage of images as a zipped file into Share Resources, or link to those images on a public website (use the URL), and add it to Share Resources, within the sequence itself, then perhaps add a forum to discuss the images. So the tool you would need is Resources and Forum.

Alternatively, you could follow Share Resources with a question and answer tool, and instruct students to use the progress bar to go back and refer to the images, returning to the Q&A to make comments.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the suggestion. I understand how that would work.

But the bottom line is right now there is no way to have both an image and a question on the screen at the same time?

Thanks

The Q&A tool doesn't have anyway of putting a picture into it at the moment.

But I like Robyn's idea of using the combined tool Share Resources & Forum. If you want the question to appear at the same time as the students looking at the picture, then you can add it as text above the resource. They won't be able to answer the question however, until they click on the Forum part of the task. But at least you will be able to focus their attention on the right part of the image while they are looking at it.

Hope that helps.
