Yes folks, the long awaited day has finally arrived, at least for Windows users.

The Windows installer/upgrader for LAMS 2.1 is available for download. This is the new "current production release" for LAMS. For the full 2.1 feature list, see the LAMS 2.1 Feature List.

This will allow you to install LAMS 2.1 on a Windows PC that does not have LAMS at all or to upgrade a LAMS 2.0.4 server.

If you are running a version of LAMS earlier than LAMS 2.0.4, then you should upgrade to LAMS 2.0.4 first, then upgrade to LAMS 2.1.

You can download the Windows installer/upgrader from the Downloads wiki page.

You CANNOT upgrade from LAMS 2.1 RC1 to LAMS 2.1. If you are running any of the special custom LAMS 2.0.5, LAMS 2.0.6 or LAMS 2.0.7 versions that we have done over the last year, please email your normal LAMS contact person about how you are going to upgrade.

Only the Windows installer is available right now - we are still doing our final testing on the Unix / Linux / OS/X installer. That should be ready tomorrow.

If you are using the FLV movie player in the HTML editor, please read my next posting about updating the movie player.

Any questions or problems, please post them here.

Happy upgrading!

The debian/ubuntu package for 2.1's just been uploaded to our Australian mirror - you can add our repository to your sources.list with this line (the trailing slash is required):

deb http://downloads.lamsinternational.com/debian web/

Then install with
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lams2

If you have the 2.1rc1 debian package installed, it'll update that too.

You can also download it directly here, http://downloads.lamsinternational.com/debian/web/lams2_2.1.0-1_all.deb.

Any problems, feel free to email me...

Thanks
