Lams installed on Linux box OK. Can access locally within school network by:

http://10.21.48.21:8080/lams/

We are hosting website for domain of

www.denisoncollege.nsw.edu.au on server here which is on reverse proxy from det to make it accessible to world.

Moodle exists as folder within the hosted website and is accessibe also via reverse proxy as:

www.denisoncollege.nsw.edu.au/moodle

Problem
After installing Lams, we set up our own reverse proxy so that LAMS could be accessed externally via:

www.denisoncollege.nsw.edu.au/lams

This works ok and you can log in BUT, Authoring tools are not available and cannot access saved sequences.

So loging in locally all works ok, logging in via reverse proxy has problems.

Any ideas?

In the LAMS SysAdmin configuration, what is the value of ServerURL? It should be 'http://www.denisoncollege.nsw.edu.au/lams/' - if it's still 10.21.48.21, then Author won't open due to javascript security preventing cross-domain scripts from running.

Hi

Just checked, In config the server url is exactly that, ie

http://www.denisoncollege.nsw.edu.au/lams

It is not the local IP address. Might ask at the Lams conference at Macquarie Uni next week?

Yep, most of us should be around at the conference this Friday :)

Going to the URL above, it seems the proxy has removed some of the contents of the main login page - the bottom half to be exact. So when I load the page I don't see the login form or the footer. I wonder if this is just us, or is it a temporary change? Happens in both IE and Firefox.

The other thing I remember is that in the past (LAMS 1 days) the DET proxy didn't pass through our calls from Flash to LAMS - these include calls to save a sequence, for example. The contents of these calls are XML, not HTML. In LAMS 2, the calls to populate the workspace and I think the toolkit frame are XML calls to LAMS - so this may be why you can't see the tools are access saved sequences.
