Hi my username inside MOODLE is in Arabic characters; when i open a new lesson (in LAMS v.2) it shows me rubbish characters like in the following screenshot: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2500/4075134496_090b3274ce_o.jpg can you please tell me how to display my original characters in the Add lesson screen ?

Hi,

What version of LAMS are you using? This was fixed in 2.3:

http://bugs.lamsfoundation.org/browse/LDEV-2196

nope, it really didn't solve my issue, i have the same issue as the korean guy in that tracker link, I patched my lams (2.3) with both 2.3.1 patch and 2.3.2 patch successfully, and also, I have used the latest lams moodle integration
$module->version = 2009083100;

but I still face the same rubbish characters ...
Moodle version is 1.9.4

any ideas would be highly appreciated

I also reinstalled LAMS and chose Arabic language from the drop down menu during installation, same problem exists :(

I tried to change the system locale from Control Panel to Arabic, but nothing positive too ...

Hi Jun,
thank you for this email, but the included jars did solve the problem ... :(
I tried to log in with an admin account to moodle (that has a name written in arabic language), but when i press add lesson button, it shows weird characters :(

please help me to solve this major issue ..

I've been trying to reproduce this problem without any luck - could you send me your server.log and lams.log from /path/to/jboss-4.0.2/server/default/log?

Are you able to open LAMS Author using the 'Open Authoring' button?

I sent them to your email ..
and yes, i can open LAMS author using the Open Authoring button, from inside LAMS itself and from inside MOODLE.

the problem has been solved.
many thanx for Mr. Jun for his HUGE EFFORTS to solve this problem on Windows 7 and Windows XP ....
