Hi,
I'm just looking through LAMS as an option for external students and wonder whether it's possible to install on a commercial web hosting provider?

And has anyone installed on web central? any hurdles there?

Jane
sorry if this is a really stupid question...

Hi Jane,

LAMS isn't quite a PHP application that it can almost be self installed. There's unfortunately a bit more work required.

But if you have a remote access to your server, or shell access (in case of a unix box), then you should be able to use any of the LAMS installers to set it all up.

The LI guys have some hosting options as well. And shortly they'll be offering LessonLAMS, which is free LAMS Courses!

Thanks,

Ernie
