problem with the attachment....it reads: Google has disabled use of the Maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API Key or it is not authorised for the Google Maps Javascript API v2 on this site

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers Rob

Kiora Robin,

Let me have a closer look at it now. It seems that Google now has changed the way they do their Maps API.

So I'll investigate further and get back to you.

Cheers,

Ernie

Hi Robin,

It seems that the API v2 that we use has been deprecated:

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/v2/introduction#Obtaining_Key.

Although it will work until May, 2013; I have created a task to change this for their API v3 instead.

Neverthless, you can still use V2. Here's what you do. Click Google's APIs Console at https://code.google.com/apis/console. You'll be asked to login with a gmail user.

You'll see then:

Then scroll click on Services and scroll down to "Google Maps API v2" and turn that "On":

Now go to API Access and click on "Create new Server Key"...

Complete enter the domain for your server (make sure you include the /lams/ at the end):

Click "Create" and then you'll have your key:

Copy/paste that into the Tool management for GMap tool in the Sysadmin menu... and voila!

Thanks,

Ernie
