For those who are checking out LAMS from cvs and building it themselves....

We've moved the configuration files that were in the lamsconf directory. Any settings that you used to modify in lams.xml are now in the database. They can be modified by logging in as sysadmin, clicking on the Sys Admin tab and select "Edit Configuration Settings".

There is also a help page now that explains what the entries are.

For example, the language setting for the server can be changed on this page. It isn't a particularly pretty page and it doesn't do validation - if you are using it we assume you know what you are doing! We'd rather put our energy into making the normal user pages easier to use.

This change will be included in the next release for everyone else.

Regards,

Fiona Malikoff

One thing to notice for those of you out there that have automatic build scripts:

If you need to make changes to the default configuration, just edit the files here: lams_common/db/sql/insert_XYZ_config_data.sql (where XYZ is either unix or windows).
