Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that we are on doing the final miles to get LAMS 2.0.1 released on the first week of March.

This new version has mainly lots of bug fixes and improvements that some of them have been suggested by you. Some of the key features/improvements are:

* Upload users and courses from LAMS 1.0.2 servers (making it easy for existing installations to migrate)
* Fixed layout problems with IE7
* Restrict sizes of files in upload
* Skinning (customizable LAMS skins made easy)
* Improvements for further integrations
* and more...

Aside from the new release, one of the novel things will be the "upgrader" application. This application will allow us to upgrade LAMS versions in the future quite a simple task. Now that we have this application, future versions of LAMS can be installed without major issues or lots of manual work. Kudos to the fellows that have been working on that.

Hi Ernie,

Sounds like good news. Will LAMS 2.0.0 have an 'upgrader' option to upgrade it to 2.0.1?

Or will I need to do a clean install?

The upgrader for 2.0 -> 2.0.1 for Windows is well underway.

We will then do the the Unix/Linux version when the Windows one is done. Our aim is that if you install LAMS using our installer and you don't do major changes to the setup, then you should be able to run an upgrader rather than a clean install.

If you build from source, then our upgraders probably won't work, as they won't have the "extra" details that are set up by the installer.

We've just used the installer, so that suits us perfectly.
