We are working on some improvements on the way Branching in shown in Authoring over the next couple of weeks.

Hopefully you have had a chance to play with by now, either on the demo website or by downloading the Beta version.

There are two new icons for the beginning and end points of the branches. The start icon is the green door with the arrow coming in the door and the end icon is the red door with the arrow going out the door. (See branching.png)

What do you think of these icons?

Green and red are the obvious colours for start and stop but red/green combination is a problem for colour blind users.

We've designed it assuming that people will want to draw the branches working from left to right. So the start icon is on the left, the end icon is on the right. And the arrows go in a left to right direction.

Do we have any here who uses a right to left language? If so, would you find this odd? Do you want to draw right to left? The icons can be moved (just click and drag them) so you could swap the start and end icons on the screen, but the arrows in the icon would still be going the wrong way.

The wording on the screen setting up the Tool Conditions (for Tool Output Based Branching) is a bit confusing for non-programmers. (See toolcondition.png). So we will be working on that screen first. Any ideas on how we could improve the screen?

Any other comments on the Branching or the Optional Sequences in authoring?
