Are their any notes on installing Moodle and Lams onto the same server from the very beginnnnnnning. The only notes I have found are on integration.

The main problem I am having appears to be that moodle 1.8.4 runs mysql and lams run mysql.

I installed lams to use moodles mysql and it appears to run until you restart the machine when I am then unable to login to Lams. Lams does appear to be running though.

Thanks
Colin

Hi Colin,

Here's an installation animation for LAMS2 from the very very beginning.

Are you able to see the LAMS login page? Is LAMS set to automatically start when the computer restarts?

You don't need a separate mysql to use LAMS and Moodle, the way you have installed it is correct. So it might be that LAMS hasn't started automatically.

If you think it has started, but you aren't getting the login page, then could you attached the LAMS logs?

You can zip up the log files and attached them to a post here. You can find these logs at

C:\lams2\jboss-4.0.2\server\default\log\

Replace C:\lams2 with whatever directory you chose to install LAMS to.

Thanks,

Ernie

There's also this animation on how to install LAMS and XAMMP, which is a way that a lot of Moodlers use to get Moodle installed. In this case LAMS uses the MySQL provided with XAMMP.
