European LAMS Conference Presentation Reminder
Proposals for presentations and/or papers for the 2010 European LAMS & Learning Design Conference on July 15th in Oxford were due March 26th. Thanks to all who have already sent their proposals through - it looks like we'll have another great conference. Several people have asked about extensions, so for anyone who hasn't yet submitted a proposal but would like to, we can accept them up to the end of this week (April 2nd). The minimum is a title and an abstract, so if you've got some great work on Learning Design or LAMS, please don't be shy about offering a proposal. Submission details at: Keynotes - Diana Laurillard & Liz Masterman I'm delighted that Diana Laurillard and Liz Masterman will be giving a joint keynote for the opening of the LAMS conferences - details below. Title: Implementing a constructionist approach to collaboration through a ‘learning design support environment’: balancing users’ requirements with researchers’ theory-informed aspirations Abstract Taking lecturers beyond their current practice includes helping them to engage productively with theories of learning, both explicitly (through drawing their attention to appropriate theories) and implicitly (by embedding theory in the software infrastructure). In developing the LDSE, therefore, we must balance users’ stated needs and preferences rooted in what they do now (the “demand” side) with our own theory-informed aspirations for what they might do (the “supply” side). In this keynote we will illustrate how we are striving to achieve this balance. Posted by James Dalziel |
