Learning Design workshops around Australia
As part of my ALTC National Teaching Fellowship I'm giving a series of workshops around Australia on Learning Design. Most sessions are 2 hours: a 1 hour overview lecture then 1 hour of extended Q&A and examples. For event details please email the relevant contact. Adelaide - May 25th Melbourne - May 30th Sydney - June 27th Canberra - July 2nd Perth - July 10th Darwin - July 25th In addition, there will be discipline workshops in the areas of Teacher Training and Medical Education held in Sydney in June/July - more details next newsletter; and there will be online presentations provided in the areas of research methods and volunteering. My thanks to everyone who is helping to make these events possible, and to Phil Long and colleagues at the University of Queensland for hosting the first presentation back on April 27th. Carina Dennis presented a digital poster at the International Human Genome Organisation meeting held in Sydney in March this year using a great sequence on genetics. She has made an excellent 3 minute video of the sequence - see The video is a great short example of what is possible in LAMS - very useful for sharing with colleagues! We've had a very busy period on the technical side with the recent release of LAMS 2.4 and work for LAMS International clients. We're still working on the installer/upgraders for LAMS 2.4 - we hope to have these out in the not too distant future - please keep an eye on the LAMS Community technical forums for updates.
