LAMS Conference papers
Paper presentations for the LAMS Conference were due during the past week, but we've given out a number of extensions - so if anyone was planning to submit something but didn't make the deadline, but thinks they can make this coming week, please email confpapers@lamsfoundation.org NB: This will be the only chance for full and concise paper submissions. However, we expect to have a second call for (non-paper) presentations and posters in late September after the current round of submissions is decided. I'll mention the second call in this newsletter when it is released. The JISC is the UK funding body for IT in higher and further education. JISC is funding work in the field of Learning Design through the "Design for Learning" Programme - for more details, see http://www.jisc.ac.uk/index.cfm?name=elp_designlearn During this week I found out about the new support website for this programme, including a page that provides information about each of the projects - see LAMS Community members may be interested to know that at least seven of the projects will be exploring LAMS (according to the summaries on the support website) - they are: Mod4L (Lead Institution: University of Strathclyde) User-oriented Planner for Learning Analysis and Design (Lead Institution: London Knowledge Lab) ELIDA CAMEL (Lead Institution: University of Greenwich) DeSILA (Lead Institution: University of Sheffield) EDIT4L (Lead Institution: University of Southampton) ALED (Lead Institution: Swansea College) Constructing2Learn (Lead Institution: Oxford University) While I was already aware of a few of these, it's great to see such a range of projects exploring LAMS. The Design for Learning projects will cover many different aspects of Learning Design, both technical and pedagogical, and we look forward to feedback from these projects to the LAMS Community to help us all understand the potential of Learning Design.
