Proposals due by May 7th for 2007 European LAMS Conference
Presentation or paper proposals for the 2007 European LAMS Conference are due by May 7th - for details see http://www.lamsfoundation.org/lams2007/papers.htm The conference is at the University of Greenwich on the 5th of July, with separate LAMS V2 training workshops available on the 6th and 7th. The conference is being held back to back with the Greenwich "Design for Learning" Conference on the 4th of July - for more details, see http://www.gre.ac.uk/e-conference Related to these conferences, on July 6th there will be a Pedagogic Planner Roundtable at London Knowledge Labs hosted by myself and Diana Laurillard - this roundtable is a closed event for those working in this area, so if you are interested to attend, please email me. New community for Healthcare Education Two weeks ago I presented LAMS at the Medbiquitous Annual conference in Baltimore, USA. Medbiquitous is the leading organisation for healthcare e-learning technical standards. There was a great positive response to LAMS at the conference, and as a result of this and growing interest in LAMS in medical education, we've created a new subcommunity within the LAMS Community website for Healthcare. To join this community, visit http://lamscommunity.org/dotlrn/manage-memberships My slides from the conference are available at LAMS V2 & Sakai 2.3 integration released The integration of LAMS V2 with Sakai 2.3 is now out. A demonstration server showing the two systems integrated is available at For further information on this integration, see As it happens, the first public demonstration of this integration was given by Chuck Severance during his Sakai workshop at the EDUCAUSE Australasia conference today - I missed it because I was too busy running a separate workshop on Shibboleth in Australia! Recent Presentations In the past two weeks I've given several LAMS presentations - one at the University of Michigan which covered LAMS V2 general and technical issues, one for the CETIS Pedagogy/ECSIG workshop in Liverpool (given remotely) which covered LAMS V2 features and ideas for LAMS and pedagogic planners, and a short presentation at an education.au seminar with Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia. You can find these presentations in the Articles area of R&D: QUIS from Sweden Anders Berggren from IKT-Pedagogen in Sweden has written to let me know of a number of e-learning reports from Reports include: For more information, please contact Anders at andersb@ikt-pedagogen.se Posted by James Dalziel |
