European LAMS Conference - Keynotes & Proposals Due Soon
I'm delighted to announce that Diana Laurillard from the London Knowledge Lab and Liz Masterman from Oxford University will be giving Keynotes at the 2010 European LAMS & Learning Design Conference at Oxford University on July 15th. Diana and Liz have been leading contributors to the field of pedagogic planners and related work, so it will be excellent to have both of them reflect on this crucial area. Also, a reminder that paper or presentation proposals are due by Friday, March 26th - 8 days to go! For proposal submission details see http://lams2010.lamsfoundation.org/papers.htm We are seeking more academic reviewers for LAMS Conferences - if you would be interested to act as a reviewer, please email Leanne Cameron to let her know - lcameron@melcoe.mq.edu.au We've just confirmed the date for the 5th International LAMS & Learning Design conference - the main conference will be on Thursday the 9th of December, 2010 with workshops on the 10th. As in past years, the conference will be held at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia - so please mark this date now - I'll have more details in upcoming newsletters. The conference is directly after the ASCILITE conference (Dec 5-8th), which is also in Sydney, so you can combine these events as we did in 2006! For details on ASCILITE, see The Journal of Teaching English with Technology (TEwT) invites you to submit articles for its third special issue on Learning Activity Management System (LAMS) and Learning Design. The editors are interested in all theoretical and practical articles that help to draw light on some of the key threads in current LAMS and Learning Design literature. Republication of articles or revised versions of articles that have appeared in past LAMS conferences will also be considered. As a principal aim of these cyclical special-issue publications is to offer a venue for academic discussion on LAMS/Learning Design, an open access approach will be adopted. Authors of articles will be able to freely post their articles onto other Internet sites if they so wish, provided they give reference with a URL to the original location of TEwT. Papers due by 1st of September, 2010. For full details, see I'm delighted to see another special edition in 2010 to follow the success of the first two editions in 2009 - it's a great way to spread the word further about LAMS and Learning Design. Ernie has done some excellent new work with the Translation tools to make it even easier for translators to translate LAMS - well done to Ernie and everyone who helps with translations! There is also a new LAMS Community forum area for discussion of translation and related user interface issues - we're always keen for assistance with translation. Even if you only know one language (like me!), you can assist with user interface discussions. See the new forum at Posted by James Dalziel |
