I cannot install LAMS as keep getting message Java Framework not available, then closes out of install process. I am on Mac Air. Not critical, just want to have a look at program for a project. All the best.

OK fixed Java, but now SQL is too tricky. I'll try another time.

Hi Sarah,

Assuming you are using the LAMS Mac OSX installer, that version is quite old and I'm not so sure if it would work with the latest OSX releases.

I don't think we'll have an upgrader to the latest version any time soon.

For personal use (create sequences for instance), my recommendation would be to use LAMS online thru either LessonLAMS or the LAMS demo site.

However, if you are intending to use LAMS as a server for a class with students, you might want to install LAMS a production server so it can be accessed by the students.

For a server installation though, you would probably need some help from a technical person as there are a few components (MySQL database and Java JDK) that have to be installed prior to install LAMS. Alternatively, LAMS International can help with hosting/support services.

We are getting ready to a new release in the next month or so. Hopefully then we'll be able to release an installer for Mac OSX that you can install on your laptop.

Thanks,

Ernie
