Forum Getting Started: Quick Q: "Add Notebook at end of [activity]"

I'm just trying to better understand notebook functionality.

I thought that the "Notebook at end of [activity]" ("Noticeboard->advanced" or anywhere there is a notebook, eg: forums) linked back to the notebook that sits bottom-right of the students lesson screen. Apparently not.

if a student makes notes in these "Advanced" notebooks for each activity, how can they access them again later on in the sequence? can the activity notebook entries appear in the lesson notebook?

I'm also looking for team work-areas/scratchpads/notebooks for team members to share notes and collaborate. suggestions?
