If you are interested in the report on the Macquarie trial Donna Gibbs and I did last year, you can download it from the Higher Education and Training Community Files.

Initially the case study covered 5 higher ed examples and 5 from K-12. Unfortuantely two of the K-12 groups did not complete their trial but we still gained some interesting insights into the LAMS experience.

One of the participants in the trial said that LAMS has a different 'presence'.

This is something we've noted often in observing LAMS classes - there is a different social dynamic - students engage with the online acitivities and talk across the tutorial room - discussing issues online and offline. Online chat merges with face to face chat and each communication space feeds the other. Great stuff.
