Hi Glen,

At one staged we developed a Shibboleth SSO for LAMS. Here's the Shibbolized LAMS explanation and how it works once it is enabled.

If I'm not mistaken this was done on a separate CVS branch so you might need to merge some code.

I hope this helps as I believe SAML and Shibboleth play along quite well (http://shibboleth.internet2.edu/Shibboleth-SAML-FAQ.html)
