Forum LAMS for Tech-Heads - General Forum: LAMS Conference: Tech track and Tool development workshop

G'day Tech-head fellas,

As you might know by now, LAMS is having its first international conference in Sydney at the beginning of December 2006.

There's a full tech track at the conference that will be lead by Fiona and the LAMS tech fellas. The tech track will cover:

* LAMS Architecture Overview. The main structural elements including the software parts used and the LAMS Tool Contract.

* System Administrators. Information on running a LAMS installation, including customising the language and graphics, general administration tasks.

* LMS Integrations. Reviewing the LAMS 2.0 integrations including configuration and a brief overview of the implementations.

* Internationalisation: Covering how it is implemented in LAMS, how to configure different languages for different users and how to help us with the translations.

* Technical BOF (Birds of a Feather) session - Informal technical discussions.


Additionally to the conference track, there's a Technical workshop, which is a hands on experience on developing LAMS tools. We strongly encourage everyone interested in developing LAMS tools to attend. Before the workshop all participants will be provided with all the software they need to get their development environment ready so they can have a go at their own tool during the workshop. Most of the LAMS tool developers will be at the workshop as well to assist all participants.
