Hi Everyone,

LAMS 2.0 Release Candidate (RC2) is now out.

There are significant improvements and additions since the last RC1 release specially in interface and the Administration section. For instance, the system administration interface now allows you to modify the default tool content, modify the configuration settings directly from the web, modify/add integrations servers, change the login page information, a new tab for users to use the LAMS Community directly from LAMS, etc.

LAMS 2.0 RC2 also exports sequences following the format from IMS Learning Design specification. However, this is just an export and won't be able to reimport them back into LAMS as yet.

Also, we have done significant changes in tools specially MCQ, Q&A and Vote.

In addition, note that sequences that you might have developed in RC1 will be able to be imported in LAMS 2.0RC2 seamlessly regardless of any changes to the datamodel.

Once again, we have a windows installer or you can keep building LAMS from source using the lams2_0_rc2 tag.

If you have RC1 installed, the new installer will ask you to uninstall it first. But before you uninstall 2.0 RC1, make sure you export sequences that you want to keep so then you can import them back again once you installed RC2.

After we release 2.0 stable, new version updates will upgrade your LAMS installation without having it to uninstall and reinstall as we are doing now.

RC2 includes all translations as of last Friday.

I hope you enjoy this and hopefully in about two weeks time we'll have LAMS 2.0 stable out!
