One question about the use of grouping tool in scenarios of collaborative learning

I want to design a sequence where initially the class is divided in groups of 2 students .The members of each group collaborate through forum .Later groups of 4 students are created and the process continues .

A first idea is to create a sequence with grouping tool followed by forum and a second level of grouping .

But I am not sure if the second grouping tool is referring to the whole class or only to the group created by the first grouping tool. If this happens it is not possible to create a group of 4 members from a group of 2 members

Hi Haris,

If the first grouping creates groups that only have two students and down in the sequence you have another grouping that creates groups of 4, then the second grouping will be referring to all the students in the lesson.

Now, you could use branching for the first group and put grouping activities in each branch. The grouping activities in each branch then will only regroup people that are on the branch instead of the whole class.
