What does mod_jk accomplish?

I want to hame lams show up on port 80, where I also have apache running Moodle and Elgg on port 80 already.
I did a search and mod_jk seems to be the thing to use. I found some configuration documentation http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lamsdocs/Apache+and+LAMS But I am not sure what exactly this does. It doesn't seem to accomplish my goal of http://mysite.com/lams/ redirecting to the Lams server. I notice in that configuration it says someting is running on port 8009. I am not sure what that is, my lams with default config is on port 8080. Is it possible to get apache to redirect requests to /lams/ on port 80 to the lams server? If so, is using mod_jk the way to do it? Thanks! Posted by Dave Bauer |
