Hi Ling,

Have a look at this Prodution server settings for LAMS.

We have done testing with over 1000 concurrent users in LAMS and the hardware we used it was fairly modest. There has been a great deal of optimization with LAMS 2.3 and the hardward requirements shouldn't be very big.

In terms of database, although you could potentially use Oracle, we don't support it. As we use Hibernate, in theory, you could use any hibernate support database. However there are some db scripts for creating some of the tables that are mysql scripts, so you would need to change them to fit Oracle.

As far as dimdim and Red5, yeah, it's probably best on a separate server.

There's a lot more information in the Wiki's System Administration Guide

Thanks,

Ernie

Thanks Ernie for the info.

Can you advise on the firewall rules required for LAMS?

Hi Ling,

Aside from port 80, for Red5 you will need to open port 1935. However, I have read that you could tunnel it thru http instead. We haven't done it but if you decide to do this, please share your experience here.

Thanks,

Ernie
