Correct.

Branching all the way :-)

I see you are grasping the wonders of branching ;-)

Indeed, I would use branching to send all the other students in one branch to the next activities while sending the team leaders into intermediate activities before they merge at the end... see the attached picture (taken from the branching documentation).

I want to work a problem in groups. So, I am doing grouping first and then all my activities modified by this grouping activity, but....
what does it mean applying grouping to submit file? Can I make that a group could submit a file as a group and not as an individual person?
How come?

* Additionally, do you see/guess branching to be available depending on, say, role (as in actor in a play) or status
> (team leader)?*

Is that possible? Is it possible to branch depending on a role (for ex, the scriba of the group?)?? It's just what I need! But I don't know how!

Thanks,

Sandra

Hi Sandra,

In the case of Submit file, no it really doesn't make a lot of sense.

> Can I make that a group could submit a file as a group and not as an individual person?

You can do this by using activities like Chat & Scribe or Forum & Scribe are for. You can get a team to discuss a particular subject and get them to submit a report or document as group... and you can also apply groupings to them.

> Is it possible to branch depending on a role (for ex, the scriba of the group?)?

Not automatically. However, you could create a student selected group in which you ask the students to group in scribes and not-scribes. Or a teacher selected one in which you group these two manually.

Hi Ernie,

I need to make one thing clear:

> Can I make that a group could submit a file as a group and not as an individual person?

>You can do this by using activities like Chat & Scribe or Forum & Scribe are for. You can get a team to discuss a particular subject and get them to submit a report or document as group... and you can also apply groupings to them.

I want that the group submit a file as a group. You mean that with Forum & Scribe, the scribe can upload a file?!Where? Because I can only see a text box and I don't know how I can give the chance to upload a file to the scribe of the group.

Thanks

Sorry, you are correct. The scribe cannot submit a file but rather a report using the text area.

If you *really* need the scribe to submit a file on behalf of the group, you can put a branching activity and inside one activity-less branch and one branch only for the scribes. You can choose Teacher selected branching so the teacher assigns the scribe to the branch so they can submit their papers on behalf of the team.

Not the most elegant of all sequences, but it works :-)

See images attached.

Thanks
