Hello,

After giving it a couple of years I am trying to get to grips with installing LAMS; my previous experience was not good and I won't bore anyone with that.

I have installed LAMS up to the point that I can log in as sysadmin but when I click 'author' it hangs at 67%

The server LAMS is installed on is running under Debian Squeeze.

This is before I get into integration with moodle so it's not looking good.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Steve,

I think that's probably when Author is trying to load the language files (all the labels in the selected language).

What language have you used when installed LAMS? The default English language is en_AU (Australian English).

Try reverting it to it by login as sysadmin, go to the sysadmin menu, then "Edit configuration settings" and find the Locale setting. Change that to "en_AU" without the ".

I think that'll fix things for you.

Let me know otherwise.

Cheers,

Ernie

One more thing that I've just thought about.

Also, when you login as sysadmin, go to My Profile tab and edit your profile and set the language/locale to "English(Australia)". That should fix it for this user.

Thanks,

Ernie
