Forum Problems Installing LAMS: ant assemble-ear build errors

I am getting long list of build errors when running assemble-ear, beginning with the following error. It does not seem to like "Map<String,Object>".

[javac] /usr/local/lams1/lams_common/src/java/org/lamsfoundation/lams/dao/IBaseDAO.java:112: <identifier> expected
    [javac]    public void update(Class clazz, String propertyToChange, Object newValue, Map<String,Object> conditions);

JBoss seems to have installed ok, but I'm wonder whether there is a missing library, something, that causing the Lams build errors.
