High all,

One of the most common used activity is the Share Resources.
Teaches like this activity mainly for the step by step instructions for the Learners to follow (e.g. Read the 2nd and 3rd page of this online article and write a summary or answer the following two questions).

This is working very well with some type of files (e.g. pdf, swf) bun not with others (e.g. a power point presentation) which is open in a new pop-up window. This confuses in many learners who do not like too many windows open. Think that they may have one more window with an editor or a wordprocessor to prepare their submition or to keep notes.

Is it a power point file to open in LAMS frame?

Is it possible a text or html editor to co-exist in the same frame to permit learner to keep their thoughts or their anwsers?

Is it possible to create a new Share Resources and Q&A Activity combines a Share Resources Activity with a Q &A Activity which allows Learners to answer questions postings based on resources by provided by the sequence author?.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this....

No, not really.

I believe in Windows, Internet Explorer has some add-ons that can detect that the files is a PPT and then it can open it in a frame. But for that, you would have to have MS office installed in your computer (and also the add-ons).

You could use the learner's notebook for that.

I think it shouldn't be too hard. Let me look into this next week.

Alternatively, you could perhaps use something like Scribd.com to embed your content within an Q&A activity. You can turn pretty much any type of document into an embedded flash object.

However, this documents would have to be public though, so if your sequence has resources that you don't want to make public (to everyone on the internet), then Scribd is probably not an option.
