hello, I have ubuntu 10 I ve tried to follow the instructions found in http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lams/Debian,+Ubuntu+Installers and specifically the automated download script. As i saw during the installation i had an error message saying that could not access mysql database with user name "root@localhost" and password YES. After finishing my lams server is not accessible from port <hostname>:8080/lams with message << HTTP Status 404 - /lams type Status report message /lams description The requested resource (/lams) is not available. JBoss Web/2.1.3.GA >> Since that i suppose i have 2 options. To reinstall lams 2.4 (but do i have first to delete the existing installation ?) OR to correct the problem saying that cannot access mysql database with user name "root@localhost" and password YES.(how?) Well, Another problem occurred when i tried to reinstall lams again from the automated download script saying: Setting up lams2 (2.4.0-1) ... sed: can't read mysql-ds.xml: No such file or directory Any help please.. Thanks Posted by Panagiotis Karageorgos

Hi Panagiotis, Did you have mysql installed before you installed lams? Before you re-installed, did you uninstall lams2 using "apt-get purge lams2"? Thanks, Ernie Posted by Ernie Ghiglione

Hi Panagiotis, It might be that the database was not created properly. Did you enter the mysql root password correctly? Did you have mysql installed prior to installing LAMS? Can you also upload the server.log file so we can have a look at it? Thanks Ernie Posted by Ernie Ghiglione

Hi Ernie. Thanks for helping me. Mysql is installed and working properly. I tried to unistall my Lams manually by deleting the jboss folder, and also "apt-get purge lams2" to remove the lams database, user lams and group as i saw to an answer posted in the community After i have followed also the instructions in the manual installation of jboss, lams, database, users and auhorities. After that jboss started but prompt an error previously, and lams did not saw up in http://<myserver>:8080/lams/ My questions are: Is there a problem if moodle 2.3.6 is also installed in the root of my server? cause i have one working properly. I did not find the lams.properties file anywhere in the server (Is this a file of lams 2.3 or it exists also in 2.4?) Do you think that it may be convenient for me to try lams 2.3 and follow the installation instructions found in http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lamsdocs/Unix+Installer+Help Thanks very much for support Posted by Panagiotis Karageorgos
