Hi Everyone,
Since my last email announcing an imminent release it has been a week! But now I'm happy to say that we have now the 2.0.2 release.
In 2.0.2, we have fixed few problems with internationalization (problems with Greek, Arabic and Korean characters), noticeboard, run offline, etc.
However, probably the most significant improvement are with the installer/upgrader.
The 2.0.2 installer/upgrade can install LAMS from scratch as well as updating your previous installations 2.0 and 2.0.1. More over we have done all possible tests we could do with XAMPP and it seems to work fine.
We have worked and tested this installer for over a hundred hours this week checking all possible combinations we could imagine to unveil any potential problems. We have delayed the release to ensure that all those issues we found were fixed and since we have crossed them all from the list, now we are happy to release LAMS 2.0.2
The Windows Installer page on the Wiki has all information and download links you need. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to let us know.
I want to thank Luke Foxton for his work on the installer this week and for taking time off Uni to finalize the installer today. Thanks Luke
Additionally, we want to thank Spyros Papadakis from the Hellenic Open University in Greece for letting us know about the internationalization problems and all of you guys that have raised problems with the upgrader in the past week!
Enjoy and have a good weekend,
Ernie
