Sorry Samantha, just realized that what I wrote before might not be enough to explain how this works :-)

Once you configure the settings in Moodle, Moodle will attempt to connect to LAMS. However, this connection attempt is done from the Moodle server to LAMS directly and not thru your browser. Therefore, if your firewall blocks moodle to make http calls then, that might be what is causing the time out that you are getting in the error.

Thanks,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

I turned off the firewall and tried to validate again. It went through the validation. But there were still problems when I explored some functions of LAMS in Moodle.

When I created a LAMS format course and tried to add an activity of LAMS v2. I could see the tree like folders in Moodle page, but I failed to open LAMS author environment from the option ' create sequence'.

And I also found the following error showed in IE.
"Error: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.
Code: 0
URL: http://localhost/moodle/mod.php?
id=2§ion=1&sesskey=HOsiXpcbwG&add=lamstwo"

Hi Sam,

Sorry for the late reply.

the LAMS course format is not longer in used. That was part of the very old LAMS 1.

For LAMS 2+, then the course format is deprecated.

Thanks,

Ernie
