Forum Problems Installing LAMS: fail to build while installing LAMS

Hey John,

I've never seen this problem before, but from first look it appears that the installer cannot find your windows temp directory...

Maybe creating the directory if it doesnt exist would solve the problem?

you can check where the temp directory is located by running the following command.

do start->run->cmd

echo %TEMP%

hope that fixes the problem for you

The TEMP folder exists.
I believe that the problem is that in the path C:\DOCUME~1\????????????~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\build.xml there is a Folder named with Greek letters and a space character( it is the folder that appears with ???????????).In the past i've met some other programs that had similar problems.(for example there was a program that didn't let me save a project file to a folder that had a path that contained greek letters)
Another problem is that i cannot rename this folder because it is created by the system and it is the name of my computer.
I tried to change the name of the user but still this folder is unaffected.(while other folders change their names)
I forgot to mention that my OS is Windows xp SP3

Hi John,

You can change the TEMP variable in windows as it's an environment variable.

See here how to change these variables.

Finally , I installed LAMS to another PC so I could do my homework on time.
