Hi

I've just installed the latest version of LAMS on a CentOS 5 server but LAMS does not start when I run the run-lams.sh script.

I tried starting jboss, prior to running the LAMS install script using run.sh script and that starts fine. However as soon as I run the LAMS install script, which produces no error messages, JBOSS refuses to start.

Any ideas where to look?

Thanks

Clive

Incidentally I cannot post the log files as nothing is logged into server/default/log by jboss when lams fails to start :(

[root@vleinternal log]# ls -la
total 8
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 4 11:47 .
drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4096 Apr 4 11:47 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 4 12:53 boot.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Apr 4 12:49 server.log

Hi Clive,

We have not tested with CentOS but since it is a Linux distribution it should work ok.

Did you choose to install the wrapper when you installed lams. If so you can start jboss using the sudo /etc/init.d/lams2 start command as specified in the readme.

Hi Luke

It worked :)))

Why out of interest did ./lams2 start when run as root from the /etc/init.d directory work when

cd /usr/local/jboss-4.0.2/bin
./run-lams.sh

didn't work?

I'm posting my latest install experiences on a blog to help others:

Thanks

When you choose to install with the wrapper, the installer alters the run-lams.sh script so it will work with the wrapper, with the idea being that once installed, the wrapper will automatically restart lams when the system reboots.
