Not really, all links use the ServerURL config parameter to construct absolute links. One of the reasons why was to make the links to the flash swfs behave in an expected way (due to javascript security features there were problems when the url domain didn't match the domain used by the browser). Another reason is that RAMS (which was based on LAMS) changed the /lams bit to /rams - having one authoritative parameter made this easier. Having lams accessed by one domain also makes certain that access log statistics belong to one domain and not other virtual hosts.

I think it's a feature rather than a problem...
