Owen,

The address "http://localhost:8080/lams/" will only work on the PC that is running LAMS - in your case this is the MS Server. "localhost" is a special name that points Internet Explorer (and other software) to your local PC - in other words the one you are sitting in front of.

From your client PC, you will need to use the address of the LAMS server using its name or IP address e.g. http://ourserver.somewhere.edu.au:8080/lams/ or http://192.168.1.250:8080/lams/

When you have worked out the correct address, you need to
* log in as sysadmin in LAMS (either on the server or or your client PC)
* go to the Sys Admin menu (the link is on the top right hand corner)
* select "Edit Configuration Settings"
* change "ServerURL" to be the address that you use on the client PC.
* log out from LAMS and log in again.

There are a few spots in LAMS where the ServerURL setting is used to get bits of the pages, and if you don't have the ServerURL setting correct, then LAMS won't work 100%.

Try all this first. If it doesn't work, then you need to check if port 8080 is blocked.

Does that make sense?
