Dear Translators,
As we have now incorporated a new language: Turkish, I have rebuilt the translations server. Many thanks to Gonca Kızılkaya for this efforts in this translation Additionally, since the release of LAMS 2.1 and the LAMS Conference in Spain, there has been new developments in LAMS tools that you will be able to test in the translations server, specially with two new tools: 1.- Google Maps tool This tool allows teachers to use Google maps in there sequences. Teachers are able to show maps to students and get the students to contribute markers (little flags on top of the maps) and stories for each of these markers. I'm sure you can imagine a lot of good pedagogical uses for this, like field excursions, teaching geography, arts, etc, etc. Or even asking students where they go on holidays This one is an online spreadsheet that can be used in two ways: A- The teacher can present a formula for the students to play with (Say for instance the effect of interest rates in mortgages) B- The teacher can give the students a problem and want the students to submit the resolutions in formulas by using the spreadsheet. We use an open source javascript spreadsheet that is getting better everyday but would like to hear your comments on usability. Anyway, have a play and let us know what you think. Have a great weekend, Ernie Posted by Ernie Ghiglione |
