Dear translations,

The translations server is now up and running with the latest labels.

If you encounter any problems, bugs or have comments please let us know. LAMS 2.3.3 is around the corner.

Thanks,

Ernie

Today I entered 1000+ missing labels for french.
Hope that you still can include these into the new release.

Btw. if you do, can you tell us the cut off day. I may find a few extra hours to go over the whole thing ... Since my mother tongue ain't french there ought to be mistakes and some other issues.

- cheers ! Daniel
PS: I really should try the french version once ;)

Hi Daniel,

Yes, we will include all the translations again. Hopefully we can get the release ready for next week so the last day to update the translations will be Wednesday November 18th at midnight (GMT).

I am at the moment in a remote place in Argentina with less than optimal internet access, but I´ll ask Jun-Dir to update the translations server shortly so you can test your labels.

Thanks,

Ernie

Thanx :)

It's good looking at these labels for real, but also a bit challenging. Translating also implies rephrasing sometimes or shortening down (when the target is a verbose language).

I'll spend a day or two on usability and consistency and also show the most mission critical labels to some co-workers... I.e. I will have to rename most tools since they don't fit into the reserved spaces. Some are ambiguous.

Then there is the issue of local variants. When (not if) LAMS will take off in remote parts of the world like France or Canada there might be a need to split into fr_CH, fr_FR, fr_CA etc. But that's future talk. For the moment I'll focus on being short, clear and consistent :)
