The sysadmin can't set a default time zone as instead a preferred language. And in user-template excel file there isn't a time-zone field. So, I have now a class with 19 students who speak italian, but their time zone is Ekaterinburg (GMT + 5) :-) .

As you can fix that?

Ciao Edoardo,

Here's instructions on how to set up the default timezone for the server:

About I have created two new task for LAMS 2.4 to include timezones when creating new users:

Thanks,

Ernie

Reminder to
Create users using the spreadsheet should include a column for Language (except Timezone).

Hi Spyros,

There is a column for language. It's called locale_id:

I've just added the list of locale_id codes to the wiki page so it's easier.

Thanks,

Ernie

Just to give an update on the Time zone stuff...

Now there's a new Time Zone Manager in LAMS 2.3.5. Here's a little demo on how it works:

This will be available for testing in the translations site tomorrow! If you aren't a translator but want to test this, please let me know.

Thanks,

Ernie
